WebThe Smith chart is a common tool in transmission line calculations and design. It is based on the properties of the load and generalized reflection coefficient. Because of that it allows calculation of impedances, SWR, magnitudes and phase of the reflection coefficient, as well as other conditions. WebBy rotation of λ/4 or 0.25 λ on the Smith chart transform Z n in to Y n or vice versa. The points representing Y n and Z n will be diametrically opposite to each other on the SWR circle. This is the reason that the circumference of Smith chart is calibrated for λ/2.
