WebIf you engage a station or another ship in battle, try to keep the structual damage as little as possible, bc you need a working airlock. After battle you can send your crew to the target, by clicking the burger-menu next to the name of your ship. If you split your crew, you keep both your old ship and the new one. Profit! Something like 4x ammo factories to keep up with a deck gun. Which is the preferred way due to material compression. Sulfur and iron is much more dense than constructed ammo. Same with HE missiles. Emp and nukes take much much longer to build. corridors are just wasted space.
